Play
The playground which opened during the summer of 2018, sits within a mature tree canopy which the design team carefully worked among. Organized around a central lawn, a variety of play spaces offer children age-appropriate physical challenge and beneficial risk while promoting social interaction and creative play. Areas include a large turf play mound popular for rolling and sliding; a log scramble to test balance and strength; a treehouse for older climbers; playable ‘bug’ sculptures for younger climbers to engage their imaginations; a wavy walk loop for wheeled toys; and a large sand area with play deck. Also key to the design is ample shade achieved through the preservation of existing trees and a variety of seating throughout the entire play space so caregivers are comfortable and attentive.
